How these matches are calculated
Every shade is mapped to a shared system: depth (1 = fairest, 10 = deepest) and undertone (Cool, Neutral, Warm, or Olive). The converter finds the L'Oréal True Match shade closest in depth, weighted 70%, and undertone compatibility, weighted 30%. It's the same engine behind our interactive matcher.
Two caveats: brands classify undertones differently (MAC's NC/NW runs opposite to most), and formulas oxidize differently — a matte formula can darken 1–2 levels over a few hours.

How accurate is this NARS to L'Oréal True Match conversion?
